We proudly announce that PEKTOS AG has completed the FSSC 22000 audit with only a very few minor non-conformities.
FSSC 22000 has been delivering an impact on global food safety for over 12 years. The Scheme provides a certification model that can be used in the whole food supply chain to ensure food safety standards and processes. FSSC 22000 is GFSI recognized and follows the food chain category description as defined in ISO/TS 22003.
We expect to receive the FSSC 22000 Certificate in the coming weeks and will then make it available to download on our Quality Certificates Page.
As we pointed out in our last post, ‘2023 – our year in review‘, 2023 has certainly been a year of ongoing challenges for a young and fast-growing company like ours.
Strong demand, particularly for our product line of fibers, the commitment of our distribution partners and our valued customers’ confidence in our ability, reliability and flexibility made 2023 a truly successful and satisfying year in sales for PEKTOS AG.
Therefore, planning and budgeting for 2024 was a critical company exercise, especially because of our 2024 budget with a 2-digit sales volume growth based on the forecasts we received from our distributors and customers.
The sugar beet, citrus, carrot and apple harvest campaigns have been completed. We are extremely pleased that we have secured and received all our planned quantities of raw materials in our warehouses.
Investment in machinery and equipment will be ongoing to optimize production and increase capacity.
We are looking forward to another year of strong growth and expansion into new markets.
While 2023 has certainly been a year of ongoing challenges for a young and fast-growing company like ours, there remains plenty to celebrate for PEKTOS AG.
Strong demand, particularly for our product line of fibers, significant improvements in production technology and capacity, our dedicated staff and associates willing to go the extra mile and pull their weight, the ramping up of our marketing and communications strategy and making full use of our toolbox, and the commitment of our distribution partners, made 2023 a truly successful and satisfying year for PEKTOS AG.
Key to our success was the strong ongoing investment in machinery and equipment to optimize production and increase capacity.
Planning and budgeting for 2024 was another critical company exercise. For products like ours, where raw material planning is crucial, you get it right, you are fine – you get it wrong, you are in trouble.
Our PEKTOS FIBERS range of plant fibers has become the main pillar of our business; we added the PEKTOS Citrus Fiber and Carrot Fiber to our Sugarbeet and Apple Fiber and also got the organic grades ready for 2024.
We developed and implemented our quality management system and achieved ISO certification in the middle of the year. We also got our Kosher and Halal certificates. Our FSSC and BIO/organic certifications are scheduled for Q1, 2024.
Good information = good decisions: In 2022, we implemented our marketing strategy centred around our new website, www.pektos.ch, with the News blogs as the central information hub and sales support database. Since then, our website has developed into a powerful, indispensable marketing and communication tool for the numerous new product launches we have had. A large number of regular and new visitors now use our website. We also gained many subscribers to our news blogs; many of our customers and distributors have subscribed to receive the newsletters and blogs directly to their inboxes. Our LinkedIn company page is used as an additional marketing and information channel. In the past 18 months, we published more than 35 News blogs covering topics like company updates, new product launches, and updated or new information about our company, markets, products, and services.
Product and Application Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, presentations, and quality certificates were added or updated regularly, significantly expanding the downloadable product information and making it quickly and directly accessible.
So, while 2023 clearly and expectedly was full of challenges, it is worth acknowledging that challenge and opportunity do tend to go hand-in-hand. We are excited and ready for the opportunities the year ahead presents.

Carbohydrates are essential to our diets, but not all carbohydrate foods are equal.
